1/ Introductions

Introduction par le narrateur qui se lève et se met devant le public.

: Hello, this is the story of Handa.

Le narrateur se dirige vers Handa et la présente :

Narrator 1 : This is Handa. Handa / She is 8 and she lives in Africa. Her best friend is Akeyo!

Handa: Hello, my name is / l'm Handa. I'm 8 years old and I live in Africa with my best friend Akeyo!

Un autre narrateur vient présenter les animaux de l'histoire ainsi que les personnages:

Narrator 2 :This is the monkey.

Monkey : Hello, l'm the monkey.

Narrator 2 :This is the ostrich.

Ostrich : Hello, l'm the ostrich.

Narrator 2 :This is the zebra.

Zebra : Hello, l'm the zebra.

Narrator 2 : This is the elephant.

Elephant : Hello, l'm the elephant.

Narrator 2 :This is the giraffe.

Giraffe : Hello, l'm the giraffe.

Narrator 2 :This is the antelope.

Antelope : Hello, l'm the antelope.

Narrator 2 :This is the parrot.

Parrot : Hello, l'm the parrot.

Narrator 2 :This is the goat.

Goat : Hello, l'm the goat.

Narrator 2 :This is Ayeyo!

Handa : Akeyo is my friend! (les deux amies s'embrassent!)

2/ Setting the scene.

Narrator 3 : One day, Honda decided to put 7 delicious fruits in her basket.

Le narrateur se place vers Handa qui est assise par terre avec son panier.

Handa: This is a present for my friend Akeyo. Elle montre son panier.

Handa prend chaque fruit, le montre au public et puis le met dans son panier. Elle vérifie que tout y est.

Handa : A yellow banana, a guava an orange, a red mango, a pineapple, a green avocado, and a purple passion fruit.

Handa + public : One, two, three etc.

3/

Handa suit son chemin et rencontre à son insu quelques animaux sur sa route. L'animal se penche par-dessus l'herbe.

Monkey : Ilike bananas.

The monkey takes the banana

Ostrich : I like guavas.

The ostrich takes the guava.

Zebra : I like oranges.

The zebra takes the orange

Handa : (fait une pause et s'assoit! Elle s'endort près d'un arbre) It's very hot today! Oh a butterfly! Wow it is beautiful! Ok it's time to go now! (Elle baille) oh I'm tired!

Elephant : I like mangoes.

The elephant takes the mango .

Giraffe : I like pineapples.

The giraffe takes the pineapple

Antelope : I like avocados.

The antelope takes the avocado.

Handa : Handa fait une autre pause, reste debout : What's Akeyo's favourite fruit? The banana? The mango? No! The pineapple! Yes! The pineapple!

Parrot : I like passion fruit.

The parrot takes the passion fruit.

La chèvre arrive vers l'arbre. La chèvre réussit à s'échapper et vient charger l'arbre qui fait tomber ses fruits dans le panier de Handa et réveille Handa !

Goat : .    I don’t like trees!!!!

4/ Denouement

Handa s'approche du village de son amie.

Handa : Helllo Akeyo. How are you today?

Akeyo: Hello Handa. l'm fine, thanks.

Handa : l've got a surprise for you.

Akeyo : A surprise! I like surprises. Tangerines! My favourite fruit!

Handa : Tangerines! That is a surprise!!

GOODBYE EVERYONE !
